It's Thursday, March 14th, Happy Pi Day. Villanova tried to play themselves off the bubble with a win, nearly losing as 25-point favorites to Depaul who hadn't beaten a Big East team all season.

Wednesday, March 13th Recap

SELECTION: FLORIDA STATE +3.5

RESULT: WIN

FSU Played great defense, scored points off turnovers, and won the game outright. They closed at +4.5, which was probably more surprising than the result.

SELECTION: WICHITA STATE -3

RESULT: WIN

Close game til the end, but Wichita covered the number, I thought it should be -5, but it landed 7, I won't complain about it that's for sure.

SELECTION: WASHINGTON +3.5

RESULT: LOSS

Washington led for a majority of this one, but let the lead slip away late and couldn't even hang on for the cover, probably the right side, but a loser.

SELECTION: OREGON STATE +6.5

RESULT: LOSS

By far, the worst performance of the day from any team I backed, never really in it.

SELECTION: CALIFORNIA BAPTIST +4

RESULT: WIN

Best performance of the day, despite choking the lead away late and having to win in OT, the +4 was very rarely, if ever, in doubt.

SELECTION: DIANE PARRY ML +210

RESULT: LOSS

9 points separated these 2 after 3 sets, I'd bet it again at those odds if they ran it back.

In general, you never want to lay more than 2 full possessions and then some, unless the line is off by another full possession. We have that here, as I make Michigan State -9.5. But I'm still not in a hurry to bet it as Sparty appears to be safely into the tournament field already and motivation for an experienced coach like Izzo may not be at an all-time high. If you used them as a leg in an ML parlay, I wouldn't object.

12 PM EST XAVIER VS CONNECTICUT -15.5 -(-110) CAESARS

It's just too many points, I make it -11.5, and Connecticut is already locked into a 1 seed. I could only recommend the dog, 15.5 points is a ton in college hoops, even vs a juggernaut like Uconn.
